Beyond the ordinary

Old Testament Survey

2. Kings & Prophets
3. Exile & Return; The Inter-Testamental Period

New Testament Survey

Why are there four Gospels?

An overview of all the other books of the New Testament is presented.

Galatians Scripture Study

Galatians is a letter St. Paul wrote in about 54 A.D. to churches in Galatia (modern day Turkey) which he had established on an earlier missionary journey. St. Paul, being the Apostle to the Gentiles (anyone who isn’t a Jew), had announced to these pagan people the Good News that through the work of the Lord Jesus, God calls all people, Jews and pagans alike, into a family relationship with Himself. This study looks at the relationship between Christainity and the Gentiles.

Genesis Scripture Study

Genesis, with its famous opening line "In the beginning," its well-known stories of creation and the Garden of Eden, Noah and the flood, and the great patriarchs of Israel, has been often trivialised and isolated from the rest of the Bible by people who don't understand its purpose or who are convinced that modern science has relegated its stories to myth. This study helps you to go beyond the myth to a clearer relationship between God and the world.

The Letter of James Study

Of the various New Testament figures who bore the name James (see Matthew 10:2-3; Mark 3:17-18; Luke 6:14-15), the most likely author of the Epistle of James is a relative of Jesus who is usually called 'brother of the Lord' (see Matthew 13:55; Mark 6:3). (It should be noted that the term 'brother', in Hebraic understanding, included not just siblings but cousins and so does not impugn the Church's teaching that Mary remained a Virgin perpetually.) Find out what James has to say to his church community.

The Spirit of Truth Series

"What is Truth?" Pontius Pilate never asked a more important question. And, though the man of whom he asked it did not utter a single word in reply, no man ever received a more complete and articulate answer. Find out for yourself in this study about the "truth".

An Exegesis on the Gospel of John

A sample exegetical passage of the Gospel of John is given here: When I give heed to what we have just read from the apostolic lesson, that "the natural man perceiveth not the things which are of the Spirit of God," and consider that in the present assembly, my beloved, there must of necessity be among you many natural men, who know only according to the flesh, and cannot yet raise themselves to spiritual understanding, I am in great difficulty how, as the Lord shall grant, I may be able to express, or in my small measure to explain, what has been read from the Gospel, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God;" for this the natural man does not perceive.
